I’m originally from Colorado, I spent 16 years in New York City and moved back to Denver in spring 2017. Growing up, I was very active in various sports such as soccer, swimming, baseball, Tae-Kwon-Do, and football. I continued playing football throughout my high school years. In my sophomore year, my dad took my brother and me to a personal trainer for weekend sessions. This was my first experience with weight training with a coach, and I was really impressed with how fast my muscles were growing and shaping from just our once-a-week training sessions.

I moved to NYC in 2001 to attend New York University as a theater major. While in school, I kept working hard in the gym and continued to see progress. In my freshman year of college, I wanted to challenge my body even further. My brother encouraged me to look into a 3-month body transformation challenge. During the program, I made a lot of positive strength and muscle gains and really reshaped my body. I enjoyed following a workout system and seeing the results from it, this style of training really got me interested in working out in a gym setting. Although I had reshaped my body and made strength gains, I still did not have the ripped physique that I desired. I was curious to discover how to reveal the muscle I had gained. That is when I started doing more research on how nutrition and weight training go hand in hand. This is when I started my mission to achieve a more lean physique. I started paying attention to calories and logging my food, which gave me a better understanding of what my body needed to be lean and strong.

Four years after graduating from college, I decided to pursue a career in personal training. I started studying for my certification through NASM while taking on clients at a well-known fitness gym in NYC. Although I was both nervous and excited to start working with people and the challenges that each person presented, I loved having the chance to help others start their fitness journey. I loved helping others set goals and watching them achieve their goals through hard and consistent work.

Over the years, I have completed certifications in both Metabolic and Neurological Adaptations with Kettlebells through Kettlebell Concepts (KBC) and also became a Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM. I have been personal training since 2009, all while continuing to learn and educate myself to become a better trainer. Along with working with clients privately in the gym, I also train clients online via an interactive distance training app.

In January 2023, I became a co-owner of Rocky Mountain Flex Fitness in Denver. Within that year, we expanded our facility, taking it from an 8,000 sq. ft. facility to an over 12,000 sq. ft. gym like no other in Denver. You can read more about the gym expansion here.

I have and still do look at training as a continual learning process. Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned gymgoer, there is always a next step if you are willing to challenge yourself. With this in mind, I try to help my clients understand the 'whys' and 'hows' of performing certain exercises. I want my clients to have that mind-body connection, not only do I want them to feel strong, but I also want them to have energy and look their best. I focus on how weight training, cardiovascular training, and nutrition all work together to achieve one's goal.

It is MY goal to help YOU build a stronger, fitter, leaner and more balanced body!

Train hard and believe in yourself - Chris
